RHAIN Lab

The Rural Health Access Innovation Network (RHAIN) exists to create a sustainable and scalable method for providing quality health care services in rural areas. OSF Innovation enables accessible care options using innovative digital solutions that can be measured and replicated.

How might we provide better access to health care?

The Vision

In 1,050 rural areas in Illinois, residents face barriers to accessing affordable, quality health care. The RHAIN Lab is exploring a model of care to address these issues through the use of technology, community partnerships and a holistic wellness approach to improve access and outcomes and promote proactive health care.

To truly address this issue and raise the standard of care, it starts with delivering health care that’s inclusive, respectful and accessible to everyone who seeks it. This means listening first to better understand real needs and community priorities. Then using that insight to shape a model that’s both sustainable and affordable, ensuring that it actually works for the people it’s meant to serve.

Progress Check

Beyond individual outcomes, broader effects are assessed such as whether the program will help prevent complications, reduce costs and support a more efficient care model. Workflow analysis will help identify what is working and where there is a need for improvement, ensuring the program remains sustainable.
RHAIN seeks to provide better health care opportunities for those in areas where it may be difficult. Our model strives to offer digital health solutions, community-centered care and integrated care coordination.
